Construction work is due to start on the Prenj Tunnel project in Bosnia. The tunnel will form part of the important Corridor 5C route. Measuring 10km in length, the road and tunnel project is expected to cost €820 million to build. Denmark’s National Audit Office has criticised the Danish National Road Directorate for consistently miscalculating the level of investment required for road projects.
The Road Directorate – Vejdirektoratet - used 33% less than budgeted for road projects from 2007-2017. The audit office said that "budget calculations by the transport ministry, including the Road Directorate, have not been accurate enough".

The UK Government is closing a legal loophole that has allowed drivers to escape prosecution for hand-held mobile phone use while behind the wheel.
At present, the law prevents drivers from using a hand-held mobile phone to call or text. However, people caught filming or taking photos while driving have escaped punishment.
