An agreement has been reached in Vietnam over an important expressway project to improve transport to and from Ho Chi Minh City. The route will connect Ho Chi Minh City with Moc Bai, on the border with neighbouring Cambodia.
The US$458.2 million expressway will measure some 53.5km in length and will be built under the PPP model, with the respective authorities in Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province sourcing the necessary funding. Construction work is expected to start in 2021 and should be complete by 2025. Once complete, the new expressway route will make a significant improvement in transport between Vietnam and Cambodia, helping trade between the two nations.
