Bahrain to Saudi Arabia causeway link approved

 The proposed causeway connecting Bahrain with Saudi Arabia has now been approved. The project is expected to cost from US$4-5 billion and will include both rail and road links between the two nations.

The link will be called the King Hamad Causeway and should lower congestion on the existing 25km King Fahd Causeway joining the two nations. The new causeway project will be carried out under the PPP model and is likely to feature a 25-30 year concession.
