Bahrain’s massive infrastructure development plan

Bahrain has set out plans for a massive infrastructure development programme.

Bahrain has set out plans for a massive programme of infrastructure development worth over US$134 billion. In all 22 projects are planned, of which eight will be for road works, and a further six for general construction.

The planned road projects include work for Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Street, Road Development for Complex 917-Riffa-Phase One 4 and the development of Al Fateh Street. Development work for Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Street will include improving water flow in Tubli Bay. Meanwhile, Road Development for Complex 917-Riffa-Phase One includes new drainage systems and installing new lighting, traffic signs and repaving some existing road sections.
 
These works form part of wider plans to improve transport in Bahrain as well as connections to Saudi Arabia.
