A new US$1.1 billion highway project is planned for Vietnam to link Gia Nghia with Chon Thanh. The highway is planned to build under the PPP model, with around half of the investment required being supplied by the Vietnam Government. Two of the firms showing interest in providing the remaining investment are Techcombank and Vingroup.

Construction for the expressway should start in 2025 and be complete by late 2026. The route will feature two lanes in either direction and once complete, will form a western stretch of Vietnam’s massive North-South Expressway project.
