Plans are in hand in Vietnam for two major expressway projects. The Dau Giay-Tan Phu expressway will be built in Dong Nai, while the planned Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh Expressway will link Binh Phuoc Province with Dak Nong Province, forming part of the North-South Expressway.

The 60km Dau Giay-Tan Phu expressway will feature two lanes in either direction and will be located in southern Dong Nai Province. Construction is due to start in 2023 and should be finished by 2025. The project will be handled under the PPP model and Phase 1 of the work is expected to cost US$364 million. The route will link National Highway 1 with the Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway. The project is being managed by Vietnam's Ministry of Transport.

The planned Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh Expressway will feature three lanes in either direction and when the first stage of its construction is complete in 2030, it will extend for 200km. However, an additional stretch will be built afterwards and the route will measure 280km in length once this work has been carried out. A feasibility study into the project is to be carried out by the firms Techcombank and Vingroup, which are looking to work as partners on the project using the PPP model.
