A pre-feasibility study has been delivered for a US$1.1 billion stretch of Vietnam’s North-South Expressway project. This latest 129km stretch will link Gia Nghia and Chon Thanh. Work on this section will be complete in 2027 if the schedule is adhered to and the project is being managed by the Ministry of Transport.

This section of the expressway will run between Ho Chi Minh Road in Dak R'Lap, Dak Nong Province and Ho Chi Minh Road in Chon Thanh Town, Binh Phuoc Province. Construction should start in 2025 and the route will feature two lanes in either direction initially. The majority of the financing is being provided through a combination of the PPP model and state funding, as well as smaller amounts from local authority budgets and private sources.
