A new US$2.5 billion expressway project measuring 143km is being planned for Vietnam. The route will feature two lanes in either direction and is due for completion in 2030.

The project is likely to be handled under the PPP model and will connect Pleiku in Gia Lai Province with Quy Nhon in Binh Dinh Province. Construction of the new expressway is expected to provide an economic boost for both Gia Lai Province and Binh Dinh Province. The authorities in the two provinces are managing the project jointly and hope to boost transport by reducing journey times.

Meanwhile, a new feasibility study for the Cam Lo - La Son stretch of the Eastern North-South Expressway estimates the cost of the work to be $298 million. The necessary financing is being sourced at present and the work is due for completion in 2025.
