The tunnel project to connect northern Poland’s Uznam and Wolin islands is now getting the go-ahead. The €208.6 million tunnel construction project has been approved by the 2465 European Commission (EC). The new tunnel will provide a road link between the islands of Uznam and Wolin. These islands separate the Szczecin Bay from the Pomeranian Bay. A consortium comprising 1324 Astaldi and Ghella will construct the 3.3km long tunnel, which will run under the Swina River.
