Brazil’s Sao Paulo state is seeing some road projects being delayed due to a shortage of funds. Late payments amounting to US$13 million are holding up planned road works in the state. The union, Sinicesp, has voiced its concern that contractors will face a squeeze on operations and that jobs may be affected. The state authorities however say that the payments will be made and that work should continue.
