Important new road links are being planned for Brazil’s Minas Gerais State and Sao Paolo State.

In Brazil's Minais Gerais State, the tender process is due to commence in the second quarter of 2022 for the 100km Rodoanel de Belo Horizonte ring road. The project will be handled under the PPP model and is set to cost US$902 million, with approximately 60% of the financing being required by the Minais Gerais Government. The North and West sections of the road will be built first and will take around four years to complete. Construction of the final sections will take around six years to complete.

Meanwhile, in Brazil's Sao Paulo State the tender process is opening for the Rodoanel Norte road. This 44km road section is expected to cost $548.4 million, while the concession period will be for 31 years. Work started on the route back in 2012 when the contract was first awarded and the road is said to be around 75% finished. However, work stopped on the road, which had been split into six sections, due to a series of issues. Three of the contracts were cancelled in 2018 and the remaining three were cancelled in 2019.
