A 1,000km road link will help boost transport in southern Thailand. Around 660km of the first phase of work for the route, between Chumphon and Samut Songkhram, has already been built. When the road is completed, it is expected to speed journey times and help boost the economy of the south of the country. The second phase will link Songkhla and Chumphon and a study is being carried out for this stretch at present. The third phase will feature two key components, one connecting Samut Songkhram with Samut Sakhon and the other joining Songai Kolok with Songkhla.
