A new road connection is planned in Algeria that will connect the Eastern Motorway to the RN5 route. This is intended to reduce congestion on the northern side of Algiers and should be ready for traffic in the third quarter of 2019. In addition, a new link is being built to connect Oued Ouchayah with the RN38 route, as well as the Baraki area. Costing US$91 million, the latter link road is being built by the contractor ENGOA and is expected to be complete by the end of 2019 or in the first few months of 2020.
