A new port link is currently being built in Algeria.
A new road connection will link the Port of Oran with Algeria’s East-West Highway. The client for the project is Agence des Autoroutes (ADA) while the project is being carried out by the contractor MAYKOL.
Construction of the new link is required to help reduce congestion in the area. The project requires the construction of a number of viaducts as well as tunnel sections. The Italian contractor Trevi has a local subsidiary Trevi Algerie, which is using a number of Soilmec piling rigs to drive piles for the viaducts. The firm is drilling 1.2m diameter piles to depths of 46.5m.
