Urban traffic control system upgrade

Nottingham city in central England has upgraded its Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system to PC SCOOT, supplied and installed by Siemens, to further improve the management of the traffic network around the city. PC SCOOT will initially monitor over 450 junctions and all major routes within Nottingham, with the aim of reducing congestion and CO2 emissions and improving journey times.

Generator manufacturer SDMO says that its new 102mm water pump and 3kW generator offer high performance and portability. Both are powered by Kohler engines, with the 5.2kW Command CH270 petrol engine in the PERFORM 3000 generator and a 5kW KD350 diesel engine in the TRASH 4 pump. Terex's new TA300 articulated truck which joins the company's new product family of ADTs

Terex has launched its new TA300 articulated truck which joins the company's new product family of ADTs. Terex claims that the TA300, which replaces the TA30 model launched in 2002, is the only hauler in 30tonne market that has fully independent front suspension (IFS) as standard. Dynapac's 'operator efficiency'

Dynapac claims that the new SD Series tracked pavers are easier to operate and more productive due to their high visibility. The two SD Series medium class pavers, the SD115C and SD135C, offer production rates of up to 750tonnes/hour, as well as increased fuel efficiency. Paving widths are from 2.5m and 3m respectively. Using hydraulic extensions offers paving widths of 6m and using mechanical extensions, maximum paving widths of 8m and 10m respectively can be achieved.
