The Rotterdam authorities commissioned Bolidt again after the previous surface the firm applied, its Bridgedeck Up product, lasted over a decade. This time the work was carried o
Compacting efficiently
CATERPILLAR is boosting its soil compactor range with the introduction of the CS44 and CP44 models. These machines are aimed at the 5.5-8tonne class and share many features with the proven 400ESeries Soil Compactors as well as the Production-Class range.
Increased electric power
ATLAS COPCO is introducing its new QAC800 generator, which can deliver up to 800kVA and replaces the earlier QAC750 model. The QAC800 supplies power at 50Hz and is designed to meet increasing demands from generator users. The machine is an upgrade of the well-proven QAC750, which delivers 750kVA. Although the electric power output is increased the unit still uses the same MWM engine however. Designed for extreme operating conditions, the QAC series generators can work in all weathers. A built-in engine cool
Barrier marking
The issue of barrier conspicuity presents safety challenges and a novel painting system has been developed by EZ-Liner that is said to boost productivity. The firm has a patent pending for its new Ultra Guard device, which can be mounted on a standard striping machine. The Ultra Guard unit can be used to paint lines on either steel or concrete barriers and the package includes an airless or airpsray paint gun
Compact concrete
Lightweight and versatile, the new Lightning Strike screed is said to offer a productive option for concrete construction. This roller screed features easy transport and can be set up by a single person, while requiring just two for use. The screed can be used for an array of applications including pervious concrete or low slump mud as well as the capability to do uphill, downhill or circular pours. Featuring aluminium tubes this units is around half the weight of conventional roller screeds, reducing trans
