In the US, the Obama administration is beginning work on a 30-year transportation plan to meet US infrastructure needs. Liebherr’s new R 946 model is its first crawler excavator to meet the stage IV/ Tier 4f emissions standards. The new R 946 has an operating weight of around 40tonnes. The crawler excavator’s new six-cylinder Liebherr engine delivers 200 kW and integrates a new stage IV/ Tier 4f exhaust gas treatment system. This features a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system using urea injection to post-treat exhaust gases.

Liebherr’s PR 756 Litronic crawler tractor is one of two new models in its now three-strong Generation 6 crawler tractor programme. Like the PR 736 and PR 746, the PR 756 is Stage IV engine emission standard and offers a six-cylinder 250kW engine. The model’s operating weight ranges from 38.3-41.15tonnes. The main components of the PR 756 come from Liebherr’s own production facility. Among these are the diesel engine and the common rail injection system as well as the hydraulic and electronic components.

Volvo Penta will show two newly-redesigned 5litre and 8litre engines and a complete range of common-platform units spanning all emission levels.
