8594 EquipmentShare’s new Sentry Keypad offers improved machinery protection from unauthorised use, the company said at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017.

“Each user has a unique identification number to access equipment,” said William Schlacks, president of Equipment Share. “If he doesn’t have the right certification, the machine won’t start.”

Eliminating unauthorised use reduces accidents and liability issues – and leads to lower insurance premiums as well, Schlacks said.

Sentry Keypad also provides instant connectivity to equipment from any browser. “It gives you real-time information on operator, location and usage,” Schlacks said.

A machine can be remotely locked down with the touch of a button.
Like all EquipmentShare products, Sentry Keypad is intuitive. “The closer you can get to simplicity, the better,” Schlacks said. “You shouldn’t need training.”

If the technology isn’t intuitive, it won’t be properly utilised. “Then trust is lost and the system is of no benefit,” Schlacks concluded.
