A €10 billion maintenance plan for French roads.
French motorways will require maintenance costing more than €10 billion between 2031 and 2036. These are figures from the French Transport Regulatory Authority, ART.
The routes run under concessions, including tunnels and bridges, are in better condition that those operated by the French state according to ART. But with contracts for seven of the major concession packages due to reach the end of their terms, there are challenges ahead for France’s motorway network says ART. The concessions are managed by Abertis, Eiffage and Vinci.
