A Ugandan expressway development project is being proposed.
A feasibility study will be carried out for a proposed expressway section in Uganda. Funding worth US$1.4 million has been provided by the African Development Bank (AfDB) for the study into the expressway section, which will form part of the expressway linking Kampala with Jinja. The feasibility study will be handled by East African Community (EAC).
This section of the tolled expressway will feature two lanes in either direction and will link Kisian and Busia. The Kampala to Jinja Expressway is expected to take eight years to construct and will be handled under a 30-year design, build and operate concession package.
