Studies are being carried out for a key Peruvian road project.
Studies are being carried out for Peru’s Nueva Carretera Central project. So far five studies into the project are being carried out by the French consortium EGIS-Setec.
The project is substantial and is expected to come with a pricetag in the region of US$3.1 billion. The French Government is supplying assistance to the Peruvian Government for the project, following discussions between the respective administrations of the two nations.
The work for the studies should all be complete by the fourth quarter of 2024, with building work then also expected to start around the same time. Construction of the highway is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2031 meanwhile.
