Puerto Rico is setting out plans for its road repair programme, which is intended to upgrade links right across the island. A budget of US$625 million has been set for the work, which is title the Abriendo Caminos programme. The majority of this sim, $327 million, will be used to fill in the many potholes across the island’s road network Meanwhile $250 million will be used for road rebuilding work. Key road links that will be improved include the PR-10 road in Ponce, PR-2 in Hormigueros, PR-129 in Arecibo, PR-19 in Utuado and PR-134 in Hatillo.
