More road improvement works are planned for Papua New Guinea (PNG). This follows on from the announcement of a series of road upgrades and new construction works in the country.

An additional US$170.6 million is being budgeted for improvement and maintenance works to district and provincial roads during 2022 by the PNG Government.

Around 31,300km of roads are benefiting from improvements and maintenance works. The Connect PNG programme will see road transport improvements between the Highlands and Mamose. Road upgrades will also improve connections between East Cape and the Wutung border post.
