A key loan will pay for a new road in Honduras.
An important loan facility worth US$175 million will help pay for work to a key road in Honduras. This is being supplied via the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). The 35km CA-9 Norte route will improve transport in the country.
The IADB itself is supplying $75 million of the loan while the remaining $100 million is being provided by the AECID. The sum will be paid over a 5-year period and will have to be repaid in 23 years, although there is a 7.5-year grace period.
