India’s transport infrastructure plans

India has massive plans for transport infrastructure.

The Indian Government has plans for a substantial development of its transport infrastructure network. The country intends to spend a colossal US$1.74 trillion on infrastructure works between 2024 and 2030, with the transport system being a key priority.

By the end of 2023/2024 financial year, the Indian Government intends to have extended the country’s highway network by 13,800km. Road network and power infrastructure development work are two of the key priorities for the Indian Government.
