The Dominican Republic has earmarked nearly US$122 million next year for construction of four ring roads.
The roads will be in Santo Domingo, Azua, San Francisco de Macoris and Bani.
According to a report in the Dominican Today newspaper in September, the Dominican Republic ranks 56 among 137 countries on the quality of its streets, avenues and highways.
In Latin America, the country is behind Ecuador, Nicaragua, Mexico, Panama and Chile, However, the country’s roads are rated better than those in El Salvador, Honduras, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Paraguay and Haiti.
