The Hungarian national infrastructure development company, NIF, has modified the contract for construction of 27km of the M4 motorway between Berettyoujfalu and Nagykereki.

The deal with local companies A-Hid, Duna-Aszfalt and Hodut was signed in April 2017 for US$290 million. But the cost has risen to around $295.3 million, according to Hungarian media reports.

The now-modified project also includes construction of two extra lanes as well as the installation of two variable message signs.

Meanwhile, Laszlo Mosoczi, state secretary for the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, said that by the end of this year, 590km of highways will have been renovated in the past two years.
