Vietnam is considering a major tunnel construction project that would boost connectivity. The project would be for a 1.3km tunnel running underneath the sea at Vietnam’s Cua Luc Bay. This would boost transport for Quang Ninh city and has an estimated project cost of around US$346.5 million. The tunnel would feature six lanes, with three in either direction. The route would join Halong Road with Le Thanh Tong street. A report is being prepared by the local authorities at present, which will then be presented to the government. If approval is given, work could commence in 2019 and construction would then take 36 months.
