Niger’s capital, Niamey, is to benefit from road improvement works. A budget of US$84.3 million has been set for the works, which will include maintenance, repairs and resurfacing.

Financing for the work is being provided jointly by the Nigerien Government and West African Development Bank (WADB). The work is being planned by Niger’s Ministry of Transport, with preparatory stages underway at present.

The project will take two years to complete. However, this is behind schedule as the project was initially intended to commence in the second quarter of 2023.
