A US$445 million budget has been set for Algerian road repairs.
Algeria is setting a road repair and maintenance budget of US$445 million. The funding package will be used to improve the country’s national road network.
The road improvement budget will be managed by the Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure. The East-West Highway is Algeria’s most important new highway route, with further new highways planned for the future.
The programme will include both upgrades and maintenance work. Algeria has a highway network of 8,896km and a 414,503km road network. Improving Algeria's road network will help boost the country economically and politically and also ensure better transport links with its neighbours.
