Morocco’s massive highway development programme will extend the network.
Morocco’s highway development programme will extend the country’s network, with a series of large projects currently underway. One of the key projects is for the US$108.6 million highway link that runs the 30km between Berechid and Tit Mellil. This will help reduce traffic congestion around Casablanca, the country's largest city and commercial centre.
Costing $543 million, the highway linking Nador with Guercif will stretch 104km. The 59km highway between the capital, Rabat, and Casablanca will cut congestion between the two cities. Meanwhile, a study is being carried out into the highway that will connect Rabat with Marrakech and Fez. The planned alignment runs through Beni Mellal and Khenifra.
