At present the tender process is underway for the Hailuoto Causeway in Finland. The tender opened for bids in October 2021 and is due to close in the second quarter of 2022.

The project is being managed by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (FTIA). Building the 8.4km causeway is expected to cost €96 million, with construction due to commence in the second quarter of 2023 and expected for completion at the end of 2025.

The Work includes the construction of two bridges, each of which will measure 750m in length. The causeway will link the Huikku peninsula on Hailuoto Island with Riutunkari on the mainland, located close to the city of Oulu in central Finland.
