Chinese road projects in progress

A number of major road projects are commencing in China

Construction of a 32km expressway connecting Wuxi with Taicang City is commencing. The project is worth US$2.56 billion and the new route will feature three lanes in either direction. Widening work is being carried out along a 36km stretch of the expressway that connects Wuxi with Yixing and is costing $1.13 billion. This 36km route will feature four lanes in either direction once the work is complete.

Meanwhile, improvements worth $219.4 million will be carried out on a 5.5km stretch of the expressway linking Shanghai and Wuhan. The road will be widened so that it features four lanes in either direction. A new expressway is also being built from Jiangyin City that will link with the Shanghai to Wunah expressway. This 11.4km road will have three lanes in either direction and cost $1.24 billion to construct.
