Construction work is now underway on an important highway project in China. Transport in The Greater Bay Area will be improved when the South China Highway is complete.
Work is being carried out on the Zhongshan Section of the route at present. The work on the 32.4km section of highway is costing in excess of US$3 billion. The highway runs through Guangzhou and Zhongshan and also provides a connection with Zuhai, Jiangmen and Shenzhen.
The financing for the project has been brought together by the Guangzhou Traffic Investment Group.
