A major motorway concession package has been awarded in Brazil to road company EcoRodovias. The firm will operate the 437km route using the BR-364 and BR-365 roads that connects Jatai in Goias State with Uberlandia in Minas Gerais State. The concession is for a 30-year term and involves road widening work, with additional lanes being added as well as new shoulders being constructed long a considerable portion of the route. Maintenance work costing US$658.1 million will be carried out on the route, while adding the extra lanes will cost an expected $520.5 million. Meanwhile Brazil’s Federal Government is making plans that further concession packages for other motorway routes will be available in 2020, with the BR-101 amongst the seven routes being offered.
