Brazilian loan for Bolivian road

A US$332 million loan from Brazil will help build a highway between Villa Tunari and San Ignacio de Moxos in Bolivia. The project will cost over $1 million/km while the 306km highway will cost $415 million and the new link will be built by Brazilian firm OAS.

Cleaner power

Perkins is powering up with a new line of Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB compliant range of industrial engines. These diesels are said to offer an increase in power and torque as well as the number of options available. These power packages comprise engine, aftertreatment, radiator, air cleaner and optional compressor, which can all be mounted on a base frame. Doosan has developed a new 38tonne class excavator, the DX380LC. High performance is claimed as well as increased control and precision, improved fuel economy and reduced noise and emissions. Aimed at heavy construction and excavation applications the machine can be used in developing construction sites and renovating highways.
