Terex AWP is offering advanced and sophisticated access platforms from its Genie brand. Important new models are the Genie SX-180 telescopic boom and the Genie GS-4069 bi-energy hybrid scissor lift. Now in production, the Genie SX-180 boom offers a platform height of 54.8m and can be driven at full height. John Deere is fitting its G-series graders with the firm’s PowerTech, Tier 4 Final compliant engines. The engine update has also allowed engineers to install a number of other customer-inspired upgrades. In addition to the new emissions solution the machines benefit from better all-around lighting, a more modern radio, an improved rear view camera with a dedicated monitor, and upgraded cab features.

The LTM 1300-6.2 all-terrain crane with single-engine drive is the successor to the proven LTM 1250-6.1. Hyundai Construction Equipment is now introducing its new Tier 4 Interim wheeled loader, the HL740-9A model. This shares many features with other wheeled loaders in the 9A series from the firm, such as high power and productivity across a wide range of applications. This new machine features improvements such as better durability and operator comfort, as well as high performance.

The new mid-size excavator from Hyundai Construction Equipment is the Tier 4 Interim compliant R220LC-9A, being introduced at Conexpo. This 22.5tonne excavator is said to offer improved hydraulics, increased operator comfort and added durability, while it suits duties in mid-sized earthmoving projects.

Doosan says that its new DX225LC excavator offers increased performance and a lower environmental impact than for the previous model. The machine features an array of performance upgrades, with a key feature being its Tier 4 Interim compliant diesel.

Custom Equipment is showcasing its Hy-Brid HB-1430 low-level scissor lift at Conexpo 2014. With the HB-1430 lift, contractors and maintenance technicians are said to be able complete nearly any project at working heights up to 6.1m. The all-purpose lifts also allow end users to handle jobs that include multiple applications from start to finish in industries as diverse as construction, drywall, electrical, HVAC, industrial manufacturing, painting and plumbing.

New engines with more power, advanced transmission control, improved cabs and better serviceability are amongst the key features of Caterpillar’s new C-Series ADTs.
