The NoLine system now offered by Guntert & Zimmerman for its concrete slipform pavers offers the capability to do away with stringlines for controlling paving oeprations.

Furukawa Rock Drill (FRD) is extending its hydraulic attachment line-up with additional V Series jaw crushers and shears. The company has extended its VM Series of rotating crushers from two to seven models, now suitable for excavators of 12-100 tonnes operating weight. In addition FRD will offer the VS Series of secondary demolition crushers for 11-50 tonne excavators, along with the VR Series of steel cutters with both fixed and rotating heads, which can be both boom or dipper stick mounted.

Austrian firm Doka will be showcasing at bauma its first system to be specifically designed and optimised for cut-and-cover tunnel construction. With Doka CC (Cut and Cover), different types of traffic tunnel, such as rail or road tunnels, are said to be able to be built quickly, efficiently and safely. Liebherr will show a modular design flat-top tower crane in the 150EC-B at this year’s Bauma. The 150EC-B is available in FR.tronic, with traditional contractor controls, or Litronic version with programmable logic controls. The flat-top crane can be had in 6 tonne and 8 tonne versions, with a maximum hook height of 63m and maximum working radius of 60m. Lift capacity at full radius is 1,700kg.

Bauma 2013 will see the former Waitzinger concrete pump range in Liebherr livery for the first time, following the purchase of the company in October 2012. Liebherr will show four pumps, including the compact 41 M5XXT and the high capacity THP 160H/36 R4XXH. This truck-mounted pump has a four-section 36m boom yet sits on the narrow XXH outrigger supports and is capable of handling up to 160m3/h of concrete delivery.

ZF will focus on efficiency and reducing fuel consumption at this year’s show. Synthetic diamond division of DeBeers, Element Six, has developed the 3D Percussive Diamond Insert (PDI) that it claims will radically cut costs in the mining drill industry. The 3D PDI uses the firm’s polycrystalline diamond technology to optimise wear and impact resistance properties, while improving penetration rates for the drill bit.
