Financing is required for a major road project in Kenya. Upgrading the Kiambu Road link in Kenya to dual carriageway status is expected to cost US$286.6 million. Chinese sources are being sought to help finance the project.

The upgrade project will be handled by Sinohydro Corporation Limited, which has signed an agreement with the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).

Improving the road will boost transport to and from Kiambu, which is home to the recently rebuilt Kirigiti International Stadium and lies to the north of Kenya’s capital Nairobi. The upgrade work will be carried out on the 16km section of road between Muthaiga and Ndumberi.
