The tender process is commencing for a new bridge that will connect Bolivia and Brazil. This new binational bridge will span the Mamoré River, connecting Guayaramerin in Bolivia with Guajara Mirim in Brazil.

Construction of the bridge is expected to cost up to US$70 million. The tender process is being handled by Brazil’s Ministry of Transport and Brazil will also finance the project. The two countries have been discussing the various parameters that will form the basis for the design of the link.

A long stretch of the border between the two countries is formed by the Mamoré River. Improved international links are crucial for landlocked Bolivia as they will help boost its trade and economic development.
