Cofiroute USA, which introduced toll road automation on the 91 Express Lanes in Orange County, California, has taken its knowledge of toll road technology to a new level with the installation of a fully integrated back office system for the 91 Express Lanes that manages every operating, reporting and customer service detail.

The annual work programme has a high degree of flexibility to address new demands of projects of common interest which focus on TEN-T priorities. The first is to promote the development of an integrated and multi-modal transport system, with a budget of €25 million.

The Sri Lankan Government is setting out plans to build three elevated highways to reduce traffic congestion in capital Colombo. The highways will be built in the Metropolitan Area and will provide access to the new Southern Expressway, the Outer Circular Highway and the Colombo -Katunayake Expressway under construction.

Support for Stockholm's congestion charge has risen to a record high, a poll by the Centre for Transport Studies (CTS) has shown. Some 67 per cent of the residents in greater Stockholm that have an opinion on the issue would vote in favour of the charge should the referendum be held today while 82 per cent would vote in favour of the charge if all incomes were used to develop public transport.
