LafargeHolcim has won a major contract from Highways England in the UK. The £500 million package of works will be handled by its subsidiary, Aggregate Industries. The four year contract is to deliver pavement solutions for five of the six Major Regional Lots, under the new Category Management Framework. The Czech division of French civil engineering group Colas will install Trakm8 vehicle use and GPS tracking systems on at least 1,000 vehicles and machines. Installation of the telematics will take place over three years in an effort to improve day-to-day management of its assets and reducing fuel consumption. Roadtec is unveiling its new MTV-1100e material transfer vehicle. The firm says that the new model has been designed from the ground up using experience developing MTVs, combined with customer feedback. It will not replace the existing and well-proven 2500 Shuttle Buggy, but will instead broaden the firm’s offering for the material transfer vehicle (MTV) market. The machine is being developed as an evolution of the firm’s MTV-1100e feeder model however and will not feature the remixing capability of the S
