An impressive target has been set by Vietnam for the construction of its national highway network. By 2030, the country aims to have 5,000km of highways running across the country.
Completing this programme of works will see US$17.2 billion being spent on road development projects for the 2026-2030 period. This will be split roughly in half between funding from the Vietnamese Government and also from private sources.
The 2021-2025 period will see work commencing on 1,176km of new expressways, with 871km being completed. The programme has been set out by Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport.
