A US$220 million loan will help pay for a major road project that will boost transport in Paraguay. The tender process for the project is expected to open for bids in due course. The route runs along the border with Brazil, connecting Pedro Juan Caballero with Ypehju.
The new Ruta de la Soberania project is expected to take two years to build. The package also involves a five-year maintenance plan. The US$220 million funding package is being provided by FONPLATA.
