The Australian Government is investing US$1.34 billion for Tasmanian transport infrastructure.
A transport infrastructure boost of US$1.34 billion (A$2 billion) is being provided by the Australian Government to develop transport infrastructure in Tasmania. The funding is paying for 35 projects to improve road and rail connections. Maintenance works will also be carried out to improve existing roads.
A further $146.55 million (A$219 million) tranche is also being provided by the Australian Government to pay for additional road works. This latest funding package will be directed towards improving roads in Tasmania’s New Norfolk and Derwent Valley, helping boost the island’s tourism trade.
