The deal is worth around €9.6 million.
The contractor will take over work started by a tender winner whose contract has been cancelled, according to Swedish media. It is expected the new contractor will be on site until the end of the year, by which time Trafikverket says it hopes to have re-tendered the remaining work.
More details of the re-tender will be announced in early May, says Trafikverket.
Förbifart Stockholm is a series of underground motorway tunnels between the Kungens Kurva interchange south of Stockholm and the Häggvik interchange north of Stockholm. Most of this bypass - around 17km out of 21km - is being built underground.
The project, with its deepest point around 65m below ground, was given the green light in late 2009 and work started in 2014 with completion of sections up to final opening in 2024. Around 140,000 vehicles per day are expected to use the bypass.
