Road works in the Philippines will benefit from funding being provided by Japan. The Japanese Government is supplying a loan package worth US$202.4 million. The finance package will be used to upgrade 178km of roads in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), part of the Philippines. This programme of works is intended to boost trade and transport within the ARMM area and to help develop economic activity. This move forms part of an official policy titled the Road Network Development Project in Conflict-Affected Areas.
