Funding sources are being secured for several important transport infrastructure projects in the Philippines. Much of the necessary funding now looks likely to be provided from the Japan. The Philippines Government and Japanese Government have been in discussions over the plans.

The funding will help to pay for the Davao City Bypass, which is intended to improve traffic flow and cut congestion. Other projects to benefit will be the bridge connecting Cebu with Mactan as well as the Coastal Road development.

Building the Davao City Bypass is expected to cost close to US$308 million. Construction of the Cebu-Mactan Bridge and Coastal Road project meanwhile is expected to cost up to $1.05 billion.
