325 Sandvik is broadening its tophammer drill rig range with the introduction of two new models, the Pantera DPi 6.0 and Dino DC400Ri. The Pantera DPi 6.0 is a further development of the well-proven DPi series and now features a redesigned operating system combined with a completely new rockdrill. The redesigned control system has an updated user interface and touch screen, with support for new drill rig options and improved troubleshooting functions. In addition this revamped control system comes with improved and more durable hardware.

Drilling performance is said to be optimised due to its high frequency RD1635F rock drill, which comes with a special shank lubrication system (CSL), said to boost penetration. Fuel efficiency meanwhile is further improved due to a new compressor control system. Other improvements include better accessibility for maintenance and a new tool that allows the operator to add hole information, such as voids and cavities, to hole quality reports during drilling. As with the earlier model these rigs are sophisticated, surface drill rigs designed to be used in quarrying and production drilling, as well as wall control and development works. The Pantera DPI 6.0 range family includes two models, the Pantera DP1100i for hole sizes of 89– 140mm and the Pantera DP1500i for hole sizes of 102–152mm. Both are available with low fuel consumption and low emission Tier 3 and Tier 4 Final engines.

Meanwhile the Dino DC400Ri is a surface drilling unit with full radio remote control operation for 51–76 mm hole sizes. It has a new RD414 rock drill, a robust boom said to offer the largest coverage area in its class, a patented collaring guide and an economical Tier4 Final engine. Highly versatile the Dino DC400Ri suits duties with drilling and blasting contractors, as well as quarrying and applications such as road construction, demolition works, secondary breaking, foundation drilling and trenching.

Its powerful and fast RD414 rockdrill has been specially designed for the model and is said to provide smooth penetration, while its new patented collaring guide improves hole-starting, allowing accuracy even in inclined rock. Powerful motors, a low height and a low centre of gravity, as well as radio control, mean that the machine can be used safely and productively on uneven terrain. Fuel saving systems include load sensing technology, ambient controlled cooler fans, a hydraulic compressor control system, optimised airlines and a fuel efficient Tier 4 Final engine.
