Salerno Pompei Napoli has been appointed the new concessionaire for management of what will be an upgraded A3 motorway between Salerno and Naples in Italy.

The tender procedure was launched by Italy's Ministry of Infrastructures and Sustainable Mobility after the previous concessionary relationship ended. Investment for the motorway is expected to reach €389.2 million over the 25-year concession period.

Highway improvement work is being handled under the public-private partnership, PPP, model. The highway carried an average of 90,000 vehicles/day and runs for 52km between Naples and Salerno.

The A3 Napoli-Pompei-Salerno motorway links Naples and Salerno along the Tyrrhenian coast, crossing the National Vesuvio Park and Sorrento peninsula. It serves the towns and areas of Portici, Ercolano, Torre del Greco, Castellammare di Stabia, Pompei, Scafati, Angri, Nocera Inferiore and Cava de’ Tirreni.
